DAHLGREN [mdash] Marietta Holsey, 63, of Dahlgren, passed away 2 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at her home As per her wishes, Marietta will be cremated and a private family burial of ashes will be held at a later date. She was born Sept. 20, 1953, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Robert E. Karcher and Odelia Agnes (Karcher) Karcher. She married Robert Douglas Holsey on Dec. 15, 1973, at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Evansville, Ind. Marietta worked several years as a registered nurse. She was Catholic by faith. She loved to fish, be around her sons and watch the birds at the feeders. She is survived by her husband, Robert Holsey of Dahlgren; mother, Odelia Karcher of McLeansboro; two sisters, Priscilla Holsey and husband Bill of Evansville, Ind., and Kathleen Bennett and husband Larry of Evansville, Ind.; two brothers, Meinrad Karcher of Dahlgren and John Karcher and wife Tena of McLeansboro; two sisters-in-law, Wanda McElwee and husband Roy of Evansville, Ind., and Glenda McElwee of Evansville, Ind.; three brothers-in-law, Mike Holsey and wife Marty of Evansville, Ind., Ronnie Holsey and wife Jessica of Evansville, Ind., and Donnie Holsey and wife Stacey of Evansville, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; two sons, Shane Holsey and Adam Shae Holsey; and brother, Keith. Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, is in charge of arrangements.
