DALE [mdash] James E. Pressy, 73, of Dale, passed away at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at his residence. Visitation was held 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at Harre Funeral Home with Brother Dennis Robison officiating. There will be no burial service at this time. Mr. Pressy is to be cremated. He was born July 17, 1943, in St. Louis, the son of Harold Pressy and Gretta (Bruner) Pressy. He married Linda L. Wheeler. He was disabled and a member of the Eldorado Christian Church. James loved hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He was Past Commander of the Sons of American Legion Post 106. He is survived by his wife, Linda Pressy of Dale; son, James Pressy Jr. and wife Roxanne of Princeton; daughter, Marilyn Pressy; brothers, Larry Pressy of Oscala, Fla., Paul Pressy and wife Karen of Buena Vista, Ga., Merlin Pressy and wife Doretha of Duncan, Okla., and Frank Rost and wife Teresa of Delafield; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Pressy and Gretta (Pressy) Rost; daughter, Lavonna Pressy; two stepchildren; and sisters, Flo Brooks and Clara Martin and special friend Darnell Thomason. Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of arrangements.
